Hotel not hotel
At Hotel Not Hotel in Amsterdam, a room isn’t just a room: it’s an individual work of art with its own creator, story, and identity. You emerge from your room into an art-filled, exhibition-like space rather than an anonymous lobby or hallway. In line with the aesthetic philosophy of this truly unique hotel, Arno & Iris created the Crisis Free Zone, a two-room cottage of such ornate beauty that it often makes its occupants feel as if they’re secluded a million miles away from the daily deluge of depressing news and nose-diving economies. The elaborately carved wooden archway and facade adornments are loosely based on Transylvanian symbolism that’s meant to ward off evil of any kind.
